Are Buzz Drops Legal? 2026 Federal and State Update

Current Buzz Drops product facts

Federal hemp framework in 2026

The existing federal hemp framework has used a Delta-9 THC concentration threshold of not more than 0.3% on a dry-weight basis. Product concentration is only one part of the legal analysis, and state or local law may be more restrictive.

In November 2025, Public Law 119-37 amended the federal definition of hemp, with the amendment scheduled to take effect one year after enactment. The Congressional Research Service explains that the amended definition excludes certain final hemp-derived cannabinoid products containing more than 0.4 mg combined total THC per container.

Why the November 2026 change matters

The current Buzz Drops COA reports more than 0.4 mg of Delta-9 THC in a bottle, so the scheduled federal definition is directly relevant to this product. Availability, formulation, or sales channels may need to change before the amendment takes effect. Do not rely on older articles that call the product unconditionally federally legal.

State and local law still matters

States and municipalities can impose their own age limits, serving or package limits, licensing rules, taxes, shipping restrictions, or prohibitions. A product’s treatment under one federal definition does not override a stricter state or local rule.
